he is no worse than SG,FL or WR being chosen he is at least one of the best central defenders for bringing the ball forward,which will help drive the team forward and as like at West Ham if needed he will demand certain things from his team mates.
Oh this wouldnt be down to the fact that he missed his drugs test or has had his name in the papers quite often...
and anyway my friend what Capello is doing in rotating the armband with ever friendly is a great idea,at least whoever finally gets the C.B will be choosen for the right reasons and not because of being the managers blue eyed boy like in most past occassions..

I don't like Ferdinand, bringing the ball forward is nothing to do with leadership skills, and although ferdinand does this well, it does not in any way enhance his leadership skills! There are better captains in the England squad, and i appreciate that Capello is rotating captains, and i have no problem with Ferdinand being the captain on this occasion, just as long as he isn't the final choice! Wayne Rooney and Lampard would be just as bad! None of them have leadership qualities!
And since u mention it, the drugs thing isnt exactly the best trait for a captain! The only thing he will be demanding from his teammates is a urine sample!
