Default Middlesbrough star set for La Liga switch?

July, 2, 2008

Real Betis want to take George Boateng from Middlesbrough Football Club.

The Dutch midfielder is down the pecking order at the Riverside Stadium, although Gareth Southgate insists the former Aston Villa man remains an important part of his squad.

Boateng claims the chances of him remaining with Boro are 50/50 and he has certainly not ruled out an exit, which has alerted Spanish La Liga side Real Betis.

Paco Chaparro is aiming to improve on last season’s finish of thirteen in the Primera division, and he hopes to land the 32-year-old for a fee in the region of £1.5million.
