Villa is on a distinguished road

Great way to bounce back from the shocking defeat to Fulham with a 4-1 hammering of Newcastle

Have to admit i was worried when Owen took the lead as he had scores to settle after being left out the England fold - i thought maybe after the early goal they would of built on it

Wasn't very pleased with our first half performace to be fair - Mellberg just is'nt with it at the back IMO - his head is clearly in Italy and his comments about being commited for our final games just dosn't cut it it looks

Craig Gardner is a midfielder but revels at RB - loves a pop at goal from distance as well and has the pace that Mellberg lacks

Marlon Harewood has to start with Carew IMO - he is a real handful and lifts the team going forward with his electric pace - when Agbonlahor comes back from injury he needs to start on the right over the lazy Petrov

John Carew was fantastic - dosn't always impress me at times but when he puts his mind on the game he is fantastic - typical center forward goals yesterday bulling defenders and getting the better of them - great penalty to seal the hat-trick as well

Maloney and Young were both key players - nice to have players that can give your strikers service - hence why only the top 2 have scored more goals than us

The subs for Villa were key
