Potter commits to wolves
Darren Potter was offered the chance to be transfer listed in January but chose to stay and fight for his place, it has been revealed.
The midfielder, who joined Wolves last season from Liverpool, has struggled to hold down a place this term. However, he told manager Mick McCarthy that he wanted his future to lie with Wolves.
The determination shown by the 23-year-old Irish international drew praise from the boss.
Mick explains: "Before the transfer deadline, when Darren wasn't playing, I asked him if he wanted to go on the list.
"I told him to go away and think about it.
"He came back in the following day and said he didn't want to go anywhere, he wanted to fight for his place. And he has shown that and he's played really well. He's knuckled down and he's been brilliant.
"He's deserved to play in recent weeks - I couldn't deny him that. He has really stood out for me.
"Most of the time you'd think Seyi would play in front of him but because of the way Darren has trained and the way he's conducted himself he's deserved it on Saturday."
