Carlos Ischia was in confident mood when he spoke to television reporters ahead of Boca Junior's clash with Argentinos Juniors on Sunday.
Speaking after training this morning, Ischia spoke of his "personal pride" at having a coaching position that "any coach would like to have" and stated that he is now looking to secure his first competitive victory as Boca coach when they face Argentinos this weekend.
"Argentinos are a difficult opponent. They played a good first match, but we have confidence in our ability to take the three points," he told TyC Sports.
"Boca are traditionally able to match the style of their opponents. We have players to win in any situation."
Ischia is glad to be able to call on the services of experienced full-back Hugo Ibarra after the thirty-three year old made a quicker than expected return from injury.
"Ibarra is in good shape. He put in a lot of work last week and you have to respect his desire to get back quickly. His return is very important because he is one of the best right-backs in the last decade... he has always contributed a lot to Boca."
As well as the full-back's positional qualities, Ischia feels that it also benefits the team to have a leader like Ibarra in the side.
"A player who can solve situations on the pitch is always helpful. Individuals benefit when there is someone on the field to enforce order."
Ibarra's return is likely to be the only change from the team that drew 1-1 with Rosario Central last weekend, with Jonathan Maidana dropping to the bench to accommodate him.
Probable Starting XI: Caranta; Ibarra, Cáceres, Paletta, Morel RodrÃguez; Alvaro González, Battaglia, Cardozo; Riquelme; Palacio, Palermo.
