Ramon Diaz expressed his relief after his side got their first goals - and with them their first victory - of the campaign against Estudiantes on Saturday.
San Lorenzo brought in a number of reinforcements in January as they looked to mount a challenge for the Clausura and the Copa Libertadores, but failed to score in their first five games of the season, losing four and drawing one.
Their poor form ended on Saturday with goals from Adrián González (2) and Santiago Hirsig giving them a comfortable 3-1 win over Estudiantes at the Pedro Bidegain.
Diaz was pleased to finally get a victory and believes that the performance "demonstrated what the team can do".
"To win by scoring three goals gives us much tranquility; the team needed a win in this fashion. I saw a very solid team that worked hard for each other and got a deserved win," he told Olé.
"The players know the potential that we have and have worked diligently on the details as we knew the supporters were waiting for a result like this.
"I liked the way we played and in addition we were able to implement our tactics more effectively. The attitude of the team meant that we didn't give them any space in possession. The players responded in the best way possible. I applaud the work of the team," he concluded.
