Wenger Wants Life Ban For Taylor

Livid Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger called for Birmingham defender Martin Taylor to be banned for life after his horror tackle left Eduardo da Silva with a broken leg.

Eduardo was taken to hospital following the sickening challenge just three minutes into Saturday afternoon's Barclays Premier League game at St Andrews which finished 2-2.

Taylor was said to be "distraught" at the incident, with Blues boss Alex McLeish insisting the defender had no intention of hurting his opponent.

But Wenger was having none of it.

"This guy should never play football again," he fumed. "What is he doing on the football pitch?

"I've gone along with the idea for a long time that to stop Arsenal, you have to kick Arsenal. I knew that was coming for a long time now."

Of Eduardo's injury, Wenger added on Sky Sports News: "His injury is very, very bad.

"More than the season is over."

they would not show it agan on sky so doubt it will be on motd

Was on MOTD but looked more clumsy than intentional.

Hope the lad gets over it as soon as possible, and it does not end his career. But just looks an awesome injury.

Wenger took back his comments - thought he would when he had time to calm down a bit

You could tell he was mad at the end and pissed off about the late penalty

I hadn't seen the tackle as Youtube pulled the video due to copyright reasons - and then on MOTD they said they couldn't show it as it was so serious - but they showed it on the analisys (SP)

First off there was no malice in it what so ever - Taylor went in for the ball but took the man instead as Eduardo was way to quick for him - the injury however was stomach churning - the was his ankle just flopped was an awful sight

agree with what you say mate bad challenge but wasnt intentional. The ref got it right by sending him off and even mcleish(sp) said it was a sending off. Bad injury though and i wish eduardo a speedy recovery and i hope it dosent ruin his career
