Default Villa fan killed

Murder probe | Aston Villa fan | Killed | Premier League | Birmingham City | The Sun |HomePage|News

What is this all this bout???? It is only football fgs!!! I hope the people in the car feel like sh!te today and give themselves up! A man is dead because his football team won a match! There are a whole bunch of ways the perpertrators of this hideous crime could have found to vent his frustrations about what happened on the pitch, instead he chose to run over and kill a man...it beggars belief doesn't it???

Arrest in post-match murder probe

Police sealed off the road in Birmingham

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering an Aston Villa fan who was fatally struck by a car after the Birmingham football derby.

The 26-year-old was hit by a Volkswagen Golf in Aston Hall Road, close to Villa Park, after his team's Premier League 5-1 win over Birmingham City.

He suffered multiple injuries and was taken by ambulance to Birmingham's City Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

West Midlands Police said the arrested man is also an Aston Villa fan.

They said he was in custody and being questioned over the incident, which took place at about 1500 BST on Sunday. I don't think a lot of people realised what was going on
.

Leroy Howe, who lives near the crash scene, said he "heard a loud bang" as he watched television in his kitchen.

When he went to the shops about 15 minutes later he said he saw a damaged car and believed someone had been knocked over.

"It was very calm, I don't think a lot of people realised what was going on," he said.

"All I saw was somebody on the pavement there in a distressed state and I realised he had been knocked over.

"And some ambulance people were attending to him - giving him oxygen and resuscitating him."

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it received a number of emergency calls about the incident.

A spokesman said a man was treated at the scene for multiple serious injuries and transferred to hospital.

"Unfortunately despite the best efforts of ambulance crews, and then hospital staff nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead shortly after arrival at hospital," he added.

If it was Bham fan who did this they have the crossed the line. There's banter and hating the club but to kill someone is a disgrace
