Brazilian side Santos have signed another two players as they look to build a squad capable of challenging for the Copa Libertadores in February.
Santos kick off their Libertadores campaign away to Cúcuta Deportivo of Colombia on the 13th February as part of a group that also includes San José of Bolivia and Mexican side Guadalajara.
They have already invested a number of new recruits in the new year, with Betão, Evaldo, Marcinho Guerreiro, Douglas and Luiz Henrique all signing on at the Vila Belmiro.
Their latest purchases are two foreign players: Colombian Mauricio Molina and Ecuadorian Michael Quiñonez, who both completed medicals with the club's medical staff and signed their contracts on Monday afternoon.
Molina, 27, joins from Serbian club Red Star Belgrade, one of many eight clubs that he has played for before joining Santos. He was part of the Colombia side that won the Copa América in 2001.
Quiñonez, 23, is an attacking midfielder who joins from Espoli, a second division team in Ecuador. He is yet to be capped for Ecuador at international level.
The need for reinforcements was made clear by Santos' poor performance in defeat to Grêmio Barueri in the São Paulo state championship and their chairman Marcelo Teixeira promised to supporters that the team would be improved by the time the Libertadores kicked off.
They still won't win it, whoever they buy!
