SAO PAULO, Brazil, (AP) - Carlos Alberto scored four minutes from the end for Sao Paulo to beat Santos 3-2 in a Brazilian state championship match on Sunday.
Also, Corinthians snapped a string of four consecutive draws to defeat Ituano 2-1.
Santos scored first against Sao Paulo when forward Kelber Pereira knocked in Carieto's pass in the 12th minute.
Four minutes later Sao Paulo equalized through midfielder Fabio Santos, and grabbed the lead three minutes after halftime off a free kick by defender Juninho.
Santos midfielder Rodrigo Souto's header leveled the score again in the 56th.
Corinthians won when midfielder Andre Santos scored in the third minute and Ituano midfielder Boiadeiro put in an own goal in the 52nd. Ituano defender Lino halved the deficit near the end.
In other Sao Paulo state championship games, Juventus and Barueri drew 0-0; Paulista beat Sao Caetano 2-0; Sertaozinho downed Marilia 2-0; and Ponte Preta defeated Rio Preto 1-0.
On Saturday Palmeiras striker Alex Mineiro scored three times in a 3-1 victory over Guarani, Noroeste drew Bragantino 1-1 and Portuguesa downed Mirassol 2-1.
In the Rio de Janeiro state tournament, Vasco stunned Cabofriense 5-1 on Sunday.
It was only 2-0 by halftime, and Cabofriense forward Charles narrowed the gap in the 69th. But Vasco scored three times in the last 19 minutes.
Also, it was Fluminense 4, Flamengo 1; Boavista 2, Macae 1; Madurerira 2, Botafogo 1; Friburguense 2, Resende 0; Americano 0, Mesquita 0-0; and Duque de Caxias 1, Volta Redonda 0.
On Saturday America and Cardoso Moreira drew 3-3.
