There has in the last few months, been much debate about Kerlon and his seal dribble. Kerlon, known as Foquinha (little seal), has for the past couple of years, demonstrated that he can do what has bcome known as the seal dribble. For those of you who haven't seen it, here it is.
As you can see, the Atletico Mineiro defender, Dyego Coelho, completely decimates Kerlon when the seal dribble is in full swing. The defender, who shouldn't have even been there at that point, being a right back, was given a ban, but I can't remember how long it was!
There was much uproar becuase Brazil couldn't accept that Kerlon does the seal dribble for fun, they all believe he is showing off, and this is pretty harsh considering this is a country that rules the world in silky skills and inventive tricks.
The then Atletico Mineiro coach Emerson Leao, said that Kerlon had broken an, "unwritten code of morals", which when you give real thought to is absolutely ridiculous, because he is basically saying it's alrite to tackle like that, but not to dribble like that.
But, when you think about it, how on earth do you stop him, if he is dribbling the ball on his head, how are you as a defender supposed to get the ball without fouling him? The simple answer is, you can't!
These 'bad vibes' that have been given by the Brazilian public, have seemingly deterred any European bid, as no European team has made any bid at all, and this seems to be because, apart from the seal dribble, what else does Kerlon do? The answer, not a lot! He's a good dribbler, and he picks out a good pass, but so do a load of other South American talents, and European clubs would rather go for these other players than Kerlon, whose price tag is also bound to be bigger than European clubs are willing to take a risk on.
The question at the end of it is, if you were manager of a major European side, would you take the chance on Kerlon? Any thoughts?
