Chelsea boss Grant has pleaded with new England boss Capello to give Chelsea Captain and defender John Terry the England captaincy when he names the next England squad for the upcoming friendly.

In pleading his case for JT to receive the armband Avram Grant Stated "If England had Terry playing against Croatia then in my opinion they would be in the Euro 2008.A captain like him you will not find every day."


Thats very strange as i am sure JT was playing in alot of our qualifying games so if Grant is correct how come England are staying at home instead of playing in the Euro Finals??

At least Scotland can say that they had a excellant qualifying campaign,unlike England who could of had a far better one even if they failed to qualify,way too many games with England players not showing enough pride and passion,unlike our counterparts Scotland who deserved more than just missing out

well I thought id get some educated oppo fans here obviously I thought wrong !
There was 2 games that were vital to englands qualification, the one away in russia, which england lost, and the one against croatia at home at wembley, which, england lost, was John Terry the captain ? no he wasnt, it was that useless fat lump of lard steven gerrard, it was gerrard that failed to lead england to euro qualification and not john terry, terry was out injured, its dam hard to ralley the troops from the stands, so why is terry to blame ? we lost vital games under gerrard and not jt. look at what terry has lead his club to and then look at what failures gerrard has lead his club and country to and its not hard for those with an ounce of education to see terry or rio are the men to lead england, gerrard is a fat useless over rated pillock whose not fit to lead a blind man to water ! he isnt even as good a player as frank lampard who has scored more goals in fewer games for england !

Todays games are a prime example of John terry's leadership qualities compared to those of calamity gerrard. When liverpool went a goal down, as at wembley against croatia, gerrard was nowhere to be seen and failed to muster his liverpool troops to a fight back. How ever, at stamford bridge, chelsea's long 4 year unbeaten record was at risk as they went down 1-0 to a 2nd half arsenal goal, jt as usual rallied the troops and chelsea fought back to a 2-1 win. England need a winner like jt to lead them, not a 3rd rate 2 bit loser like gerarrd....hows the song go (sung to k sara sara)
steven gerrard gerrard, kisses the badge on his chest his chest, then puts in a transfer request, steven gerrard gerrard...when has jt ever threatened to leave chelsea to sign for a rival ? answer ? NEVER loyal true and a winner ! gerrard has done this twice he is greedy and disloyal.

Excuse me but isn't there 11 players on the pitch at any 1 time so therefore it is down to the whole team why we are not going to Euro 2008 would you not agree?? There is no I in TEAM and the squad as a whole should accept collective responsibilty for us being at home this summer!!!!!
Here's a question for u kingdrogba...what if JT had not been injured and played but for some reason SG had still been made captain would we have been going to Euro 08? If I read your posts right then we would still have been staying at home because JT is only effective when he is captain, yes? The fact of the matter is England played crap when it mattered and as a consiquence are not going to Euro 08 end of. Arguing about the why's and wherefore's isn't going to change that. We have to wait to see what Capello does and how affective it is and hope he can turn things around!

T-Babes i agree wholey with what you have stated and i think that KD miss read what i was saying,i wasn't saying JT should not or is no good as captain.The quip about Grants comments where merely that how can he say JT abscences was the differant between England being at home and England being at the Euro 2008,especially as JT did play in part of our Euro qualifiers.
