Brazil's Cruzeiro eliminated Paraguay's Cerro Porteno from the Copa Libertadores, after a 6-3 aggregate victory, after the two legs.
Cruzeiro, who won the first leg of the series 3-1 in Belo Horizonte, started strongly in Asuncion on Wednesday, and went ahead in the 6th minute, thanks to a strike from Thiago Heleno.
The Paraguayans were shocked, but still didn't drop their heads and piled the pressure on the Cruzeiro goal, although with little conviction.
But, after heavy pressure, they equalized two minutes before half time, through Lorgio Alvarez, who tapped in from close range.
Early in the second half Cruzeiro were awarded a penalty, after a foul in the area. Marcelo Moreno stepped up to the spot, and made no mistake.
And four minutes later Ramires put them 3-1 up, with a well-worked goal, that surely sealed their birth in the group stage of the competition.
In the 64th minute Alvarez scored Cerro Porteno's consolation goal, but it was much too late.
The match was suspended five minutes later, after fans at the Defensores de Chaco stadium, threw objects onto the field.
Cruzeiro will take part in Group 1 of the Copa Libertadores, along with San Lorenzo, Real Potosi, and Caracas.
