Boyaca Chico of Colombia edged Audax Italiano of Chile 4-3 in a thrilling first leg play-off of the Copa Libertadores on Thursday night.
The Colombians were in for a rude awakening, as in the 2nd minute on the match they went behind with a Jules Erik Ntamak own goal.
But seven minutes later they went level with a well taken goal from Nestor Fabian Salazar, who knocked in a rebound after a Miguel Caneo free-kick.
Boyaca continued to press, but were in for another surprise, as in the 22nd minute Carlos Villanueva put the Chileans ahead for the second time.
In the 38th minute the Colombians drew level, with a strike from Victor Pacheco, after a good combination with Rodrigo Saraz and Juan Mahecha.
After the break the Chileans went ahead for the third time, through Fabian Orellana in the 61st minute.
But it wasn't to be their night, as the Colombians equalized once more through former Boca Juniors star Miguel Caneo, who converted a spot-kick, and then snatched a vital 4-3 victory with an injury time strike from Nestor Fabian Salazar.
The return leg of the play-off will be played next Tuesday in Chile, and Audax will try to make the most of their three away goals.
