San Lorenzo striker Bernardo Romeo affirmed that on Thursday night his side have to beat Cruzeiro at all costs in their Copa Libertadores first round tie.
Romeo declared to reporters that "on Thursday we have to win no matter what. We can't even afford a draw. Against Cruzeiro it is a very important match, because after that we are left with little possibilities."
In reference to San Lorenzo's disappointing last minute loss against San Martin de San Juan last Saturday, the veteran striker said:
"Luckily our fans supported us constantly throughout the entire match, and that is very important for us. We know that we can't drop anymore points at home."
Romeo told radio La Red, "this is a team. We have to be united and we will move forward. [Against San Martin] the ball didn't want to go in, we played with a good attitude, and the team played with a different face. But it wasn't enough and we have to give our face.
"Personally it wasn't a good afternoon. The good thing is that we had lots of chances, and we did our best to score. Hopefully they all go in on Thursday. We had a great preseason, and we have time to turn around the situation," he concluded.
