São Paulo were content to come away with a 1-1 draw against Atlético Nacional in Colombia in their opening Copa Libertadores group stage match.
David Camilo Córdoba gave the home side the lead within the first ten minutes, but São Paulo fought their way back into the game and got a deserved equaliser through Miranda just past the half-hour mark.
In the post match interviews, the general consensus seemed to be that the draw was a good result.
"This tie is not a bad result. To draw away from home against a team that has already played in 14 Libertadores', that has already won the competition once, and that today showed they have good quality is not bad," sporting vice-president Leco explained to Placar.
The goalscorer Miranda also echoed Leco's words.
"It was a good match. We came in search of the victory, but at least we were able to secure a point away from home," he affirmed.
New loan signing Éder LuÃs was given his debut in the match and after thanking his new coach for the opportunity, also stated that the result was a decent one.
"First I want to thank Muricy for the chance to play. This was a very difficult game, against probably the hardest team in the group. For the start of the championship, a point away from home is always important," he confirmed.
Éder LuÃs wasn't the only player to make his first appearance for the club in the match, as defender Eder came on as a substitute in the second half, although coach Muricy believes it is too early to judge what impact he can have at the club.
"He is very early still. We will have to wait and see before we can say anything else about him," he affirmed.
