Default Fa Cup Briefing

Hasselbaink - returns for Cardiff.

Saturday, April 5

West Brom v Portsmouth

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray has no new injury or suspension problems. Portuguese playmaker Filipe Teixeira (knee ligaments) remains the only definite injury absentee.

On-loan striker Luke Moore has served a three-match suspension but the Aston Villa player is ineligible to play having already featured in the competition for his parent club.

Defender Leon Barnett returned to the first-team squad against Cardiff in midweek after two weeks out with a hamstring problem and should remain in contention.

Portsmouth will make late decisions on the fitness of defender Hermann Hreidarsson (achilles) and winger John Utaka (hamstring) with Lauren and on-loan Milan Baros on standby.

Jermain Defoe is cup-tied so Kanu leads the attack and midfielders Sulley Muntari and Papa Bouba Diop return from suspensions to replace Sean Davis and Pedro Mendes.

Goalkeeper David James has recovered from a stomach bug and midfielder Lassana Diarra from a hamstring strain.

Last season: No corresponding fixture

Top scorers: Kevin Phillips (West Brom) 22; Jermain Defoe (Portsmouth) 16

Match odds: H 11-4 A 10-11 D 2-1

Referee: H Webb (Sheffield)

Sunday, April 6

Barnsley v Cardiff

Barnsley have major doubts over defender Stephen Foster (foot) and striker Daniel Nardiello (hamstring).

Istvan Ferenczi or Kayode Odejayi would compete for a place if Nardiello misses out. Jon Macken is cup-tied.

Cardiff boss Dave Jones will hand late fitness tests to strike pair Paul Parry and Steve Thompson (both muscle strains).

Warren Feeney is cup-tied but Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink returns after a three-match suspension.

Aaron Ramsey is likely to win a place in the 16-man squad and Kevin McNaughton, who played the full 90 minutes against West Brom in midweek after recovering from a hamstring problem, should keep his place.

Last season: No corresponding fixture

Top scorers: Brian Howard (Barnsley) 14; Paul Parry (Cardiff) 10

Match odds: H 23-10 A 21-20 D 2-1

Referee: A Wiley (Staffordshire)

Can see Phillips causing big problems for Pompey.
