Anyone seen this thread? http://footballchatforums.com/general-chat/10580.htm For a team to be disbanded mid-season they MUST have done something extreme, but I can't find out what!
Any ideas? Swearing? A bit extreme but it is Kent! Fighting? Playing an overage player(s) Referee abuse? Homophobic abuse?

I think something untoward has happened but can't find out what. On or off field antics I'm guessing?

Having read this thread and becoming curious myself,i have just spent the last hour and half to two hours prior posting this post doing some solid research and investigating into this disbandment of Dover FC u15's.With myself living close to the clubs area i thought information would be very much easier to come across, yet it is somewhat vague and hard to locate(hense the time of searching)but i did finally come across stuff that may shed some light on this matter for those interested.
Firstly i must say after reading what i found,I find it very hard to understand the logic of such actions when the team of 15-16 boys are sitting in the semi-final of the cup and are close to acheiving something in the league too.Below you will find some comments found within their homesite forum which i feel gives an brief insight into this bizzare busisness. Comments of those directly involved with the Dover Athletic FC U15s... first comment located:Made by a parent of one player been at club for 7yrs. i have just read all comments and would like to make a few of my own.my son has played for dover for nearly 7 seasons and i have supported him throughout and in all that time he has been booked twice he has seen 5 differnt managers and won the league once.So i think i am in a good posistion to know what i am talking about.so here goes .1.mr dover supporter and mr crutchfield you have such short memories supporter you have a son who joined dover not a very good player was always sub under all managers except for darren who believed in him nurtured him and made him into a good 1st team player.something that you should give credit to darren for .you did lino for us and got abuse from other teams parents players and fans of which darren stuck up for you .yet you abuse the team your son played for and took away from(throgh a stupid war with another family ,you used your son as a pawn in your vendetta)surly this is not the actions of an adult.mr crutchfield you also have a short memory and no balls firstly if we are such a bad team why was it that when the americans came to visit you asked our team to host a game against them, the only game you have ever watched by the way.we have always come up against a brickwall when asking you anything, yet you get lots of txts from an ex manager (who has not been to any of our games since she left or forced out by you)saying we have done this or that and you take notice of the rantings of a bitter woman who only has a problem because her son was substituted in a game.why do you not have the balls to tell this woman to go away leave our team alone ,but no you listen to hearsay.you havnt the balls to face our lads a give them a valid reason why they are banned(not disbanded we havnt broken up and will stick together)so you and mr supporter should be ashamed from someone that knows what goes on at our club and speaks with a lot of experience.not from two people who havent got a clue and would rather see 15 young men suffer throgh idle tittle tattle second comment located:Made by present U15's manager Darren. Just a quick reply to MR Bill Rye do you believe what you are saying? My job as a manager was to protect the children in my care NO MATTER WHAT,and i will allways do that. Unlike yourself no one lives in a perfect world we do the best we can and yes there are times when i have made mistakes as all managers at every level do and i took it on the chin and payed my dues.My out look on life is,simple if there is a problem then try to fix it, not to throw away kids like they mean nothing. Running and telling lies to the club and police is a serious issue and all this was done because, i as a manager stood up to you. The police saw through you straight away(hence no charges were bought and apologys for wasting our time). Look inside yourself as a person be repectful to yourself, and let this bitter vendetta that you have waged for years against one person (a child) to stop. To what i can work out witout having the full complete facts about the situtation. It appears that an ex-manager and either their partner and assistant,or just a previous assistance, have had a dispute regarding the actual posistion of their own son at the club with the now present manager Darren. This dispute has resulted in one party making complaints to the present Dover FC board and throwing unwarrented accussations about the U15s on and off-field conduct, and without further investigation or listening to any other sides words Dover owner Mr Crutchfield has decided to no-longer obtain the U15 youth side. In doing this he neither called the respective managerment team in or telephoned them,he instead sent out a letter outlining his decision without no reason. Comments of Support from indepentants not associated with Dover FC: Comment one by: UkElite I am an independent coach and have nothing to do with Dover Athletic.I trained the Under 15s for four hours along with another trainer. They worked extremely hard for us with no disrespect to us or other team members, there skill and knowledge of the game was outstanding,Its such a poor show that that any football team in the country would right off any childs team. I wish Darren and the Dover Athletic under 15s all the luck in the world And if anyone would like to contact myself about this football team then feel free to do so. Comment two by: Ashford Borough FC We heard about your plight via our lads and would just like to wish all the managers/coaches and lads at Dover Athletic FC U15 the best in your battle to keep the team going. Despite the rivalry between our clubs on match days I would just like to point out that we have not received any comlplaints from our team members concerning your lads behaviour on the pitch. Good Luck! So far this is the latest updates of their challenge to such a decission... 7th March:As you know, we received a letter this week informing us of the withdrawal of the Under-15's.I am, at the moment, preparing our appeal, which will be submitted to the club soon. 8th March: our appeal was submitted to the club today (Saturday). 13th March:We still, as yet, have not had a response from the club We will keep you informed of any developments. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Due to Dover AFC updating their official homesite the present disbanded U15's have set up their own independant homesite, which the forum area can be viewed without a allocated password between 9:30am and 11:30pm only. To read further notable infomation please click the link below.............. In my opinion and after reading every single information from this homesite,Im convinced that the U15 youth team has been unfairly charged and tried of undefended allocations and found quilty hense their temperary disbandment from Dover Athletic Football Club. And if they succeed with their appeal i hope that all those involved in destroying these youngster hopes and dreams will get seriously remprimanded and and hopefully fined by the FA and that said fine is awarded to these lads to fund the future progress of their team. Unfortunatly there seems to be lack of information on the official Dover homesite or within any local presses...... |
