Not content with trying to conquer the world as a player, Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is already planning for future campaigns - as a football manager. The 23-year-old has become one of the youngest England players to begin trying to qualify as a coach, having commenced studies for his Uefa B licence.

Wow. This is an interesting thread. He is still 23 years of old. He still has 12 or 13 years of football left (as a player). And its quite FUNNY and IRRELEVANT to talk about his coaching career. Lets talk about Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, as it would be nearer in comparision.

rooney has lot to give for his team.. i don't know why he wants to become a coach ..still there is lot to learn in football for him.

Absolutely...few good years do make you a great footballer and a great footballer might not make a good coach. 10 years down the line, no one knows where Wayne Rooney would be. Although its a SPICE news, but rooney for coach sounds too silly.

ya you are right. i feel that he has not attained any qualities to lead a team. he should be a player for english team and lead the team instead of focusing to become a coach

BINGO that was my next point. To coach a team, the leadership qualities required. He has got all the time of the world to develop all the skills required. Lets see what future brings for him

I hope rooney still playing as striker for long time and after his golden age passes, maybe that's a great time to become a coach
