If they're good enough they'll stay in the team and develop, if they're not replace them .......... with another local product, not a foreign one!

Call it racist, call it xenophobic, call it protectionist, call it whatever you like: FOREIGNERS OUT! says 'Chopper'!
what do you mean no youngsters coming through, we have Walcott, Hoyte (x2), Randall, Gibbs, Gilbert, Ogogo, Lansbury, Simpson, Ayling, Rogers, and we just signed the 15 yr old kid Freeman from Gillingham, and they're just the ones i can remember! We gave you players like Bentley and Pennant! Our youth and reserve squads are full of English kids!

The reason we don't have many English players in the full squad now is because they don't have any technical ability! And in any case, it's not the Premier League manager's duty to provide talent for the England squad, that's the FA's duty!

Hearts is a different situation altogether, you have a Lithuainian dictator who insists on having loads of crap Lithuainians in the team.

Domestic talent here is given a chance, look at Spurs, Everton, Boro, Man Utd, Chelsea, West Ham, Aston Villa, Man City!

Default This'll test your knowledge of all things Arsenal!

[quote=Koozar;9570]We gave you players like Bentley and Pennant!/QUOTE]

Bentley made 1 League appearance for Arsenal and Pennant was bought from Notts County for £2 million!

Of the list you gave how many appearances have they made, in total?

Who was the last Englishman to win a League title medal with Arsenal i.e. played enough games to qualify for one?

probably Martin Keown. It doesn't matter if they didnt play much, but Bentley played way more games than one match! And, it doesn't if they were bought from other clubs, the point is they are english, and the argument was that English kids weren't being given a chance, which is wrong! Actually it would have been Ashley Cole who last won a trophy with us, and much as i hate him, he was given a chance, and he took it!

Just 10 appearances and 1 goal in total, virtually all cup games.

Who'll be the next Arsenal player to play for England? If I were a kid wanted by half-a-dozen London clubs the last one I'd go to would be Arsenal because for every local lad there's a foreign import!

Look at the reserves:

Vito Mannone - Italian
Vincent van den Berg - Dutch
Fran Merida - Spanish
Nacer Barazite - Dutch
Wojciech Szczesny - Polish
Rui Fonte - Portuguese
Jay Emmanuel-Thomas
Havard Nordtveit - Norwegian
Gilles Sunu - French
Carlos Vela - Mexican
Jonas Rasmussen - Danish

yeah, but we have 17 English kids to go with them!

Another question, who plays the best footy in the Premiership? We do, and why? Because our players are confident on the ball, skillful, not afraid to try tricks in games, and easy on the eye, everyting that English players aren't! As soon as the FA bring in a more suitable approach to youngsters in this country, this will change, as English players will suit our style of play much more than they do now!

Everywhere in England English kids are getting chances to play in the Premiership, if they don't take those chances, that's their fault, and they will get more chances, and if they still don't take them, they aren't good enough!

Foreigners have improved our league, and the more they can work with our young Englishmen, the better!

We have to admit that the foriegners within the premiership are part of the reason why we have arguably the best league in the world too though. It's a case of do you value club football or international football more highly. Either way i think our national team would probably still be struggling so we may as well have a good league.

the only reason the national team has struggled is because of penalties and bad managers!

Yeah. They would be arrogant, self-centred and lazy whether or not there were foreigners in their clubs.

Hey let's propose a different scenario... what IF having foreigners in their clubs and that heightened level of competition has actually raised their game? Imagine what they might be without it! We could have lost to Andorra. Imagine that. Just an alternative point of view.

The England team are clearly crap. There are too many factors influencing that to attribute blame solely on foreigners.

Goodness knows they might even be worse because they would have nobody better to compare themselves to at club level.

Sussed.

It's true though... as far as we know the competition might be limiting the number of English players we have, but the few that do make it may be better as a result of it.
