MK Dons put Andrews on list MK Dons have made captain and Blackburn target Keith Andrews available for transfer by putting the midfielder on the transfer list. The 27-year-old midfielder was named League Two player of the year last season after scoring 14 goals on his way to guiding the Dons to the title and Johnstone's Paint Trophy. However the former Wolves man had just one year left on his existing contract and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League to be reunited with former Dons manager Paul Ince at Ewood Park. A club statement said: "Keith is a player we value extremely highly and remain committed to retaining but we maintain our policy of not standing in the way of an individual's professional development. "We have received no formal offers for Keith but in order to prevent the intense speculation of recent weeks jeopardising the start of our season we feel it is in everyone's interests to settle this unhelpful situation." Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo confirmed on Friday that Rovers had been in contact about the midfielder but denied that a deal had been done. He said: "There has been some contact there but there is nothing official to announce yet. "Of course I'd love to keep my captain. He is an important player who had a fantastic season last year but we will see." |
