Bury manager Alan Knill admits he would be delighted to secure the services of Wolves midfielder Elliott Bennett again for next season.
The 19-year-old has spent the last two months on loan at Gigg Lane and played a significant role in the Shakers' successful battle against relegation.
Now Knill is hoping to persuade Wolves counterpart Mick McCarthy to allow Bennett to return to the League Two outfit for another loan spell.
"I'd be delighted if he came back next season," said Knill.
"Elliott likes it here. Fortunately I'm pretty friendly with Mick, and if Mick thinks that this is the best place for Elliott to develop, then hopefully we will have a chance of taking him next season."
