Charlie MacDonald has turned down moves to either Morecambe or Cambridge.
Both clubs had bids of around £30,000 accepted for the striker, but have failed to lure him away from Roots Hall.
The striker revealed that location was a factor in his decision to turn down Morecambe, while he is not prepared to take a step backwards into the Blue Square Premier.
"I have already proved myself in the Conference, so I didn't feel the need to drop into it again with Cambridge," MacDonald told the Morecambe Visitor.
"Location was a factor with Morecambe, but the whole set up there didn't appeal to me."
Brentford are now the only club left in the running for the 26-year-old and are have already begun negotiations.
