Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond has insisted that he is doing all he can to keep hold of midfielder Shaun Cooper.
The out-of-contract 24-year-old - who signed for the Cherries in 2004 - proved his versatility after playing in several positions last season.
Crewe had publicly announced that Cooper was set to sign for them on a free transfer by the end of last week but confirmed over the weekend the deal had not been completed.
Bond told the Bournemouth Daily Echo: "I hope he is not about to join anybody other than us.
"I'm sure there will be interest for Shaun, as there will be for one or two other players, but we've made him a good offer and I want to keep him."
