Kevin Keegan's Newcastle nightmare continued as his side spurned a host of chances before falling to Matt Derbyshire's late sucker-punch.

Michael Owen was the most profligate as he failed to finish off two one-on-ones, but Alan Smith also missed a virtual open goal while Damien Duff wasted two golden opportunities.

As Newcastle continued to push for the decisive goal, they overlooked their defensive responsibilities. David Bentley spotted the unmarked Derbyshire and he found the bottom corner from 12 yards.

Can Keegan ever turn things around? How long will Mike Ashley's patience last?

You lot have got a tough run in too the same as us. All we can do really is hope that those around us pick up as few points as possible and we can manage a few shockers.

Us both being in the relegation fight is going to make the Derby very interesting indeed... Oh crap we are playing you away.

Gut feeling is a draw against the mackems. We had a much better performance from the lads today just couldnt find the net which is very dissapointing.
