Ex-Italy international Fabrizio Ravanelli is keen on landing his first managerial post at former club Middlesbrough.
Ravanelli’s debut hat-trick against Liverpool, coupled with the enduring image of his shirt-over-the-head celebration, ensures the 'Silver Fox’ has not been forgotten at The Riverside despite leaving nearly a decade ago.
Currently plying his trade as a part-time television pundit, Ravanelli now has his sights set on a return to the nitty-gritty of the game.
Boro chairman Steve Gibson handed Gareth Southgate the top job at Boro two years ago despite his non-existant managerial CV, and Ravanelli is eyeing up a similar opportunity.
“If the chairman asked me to come back to be coach of one of the best clubs in England with those extraordinary fans it would be an honour,†he said in the Sunday Mirror.
“I’m studying for my badges and I’d love to train the Middlesbrough team. The people are still very much in my heart.â€
