Pearson leaves Newcastle

Nigel Pearson has left Newcastle United, according to Sky Sports News.

The 44-year-old coach was brought to St James' by former Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder in October 2006.

Pearson had two spells as caretaker manager with The Magpies - in May 2007 following Roeder's departure, and last month after Sam Allardyce's exit.

But reports suggest that he has now made the decision to part company with The Magpies

Keegan had this to say:

Keegan told Newcastle's official website: "Nigel came to me the day before yesterday and said, 'I want to go'.

"I asked him for a reason but never really got one. But he was very honest and said, 'I want to go'.

"I like Nigel Pearson very much, he's a good coach and I wish him good luck in the future."

like i say the rats are leaving the sinking ship, he didnt even have a proper reason!

We need to have a massive clearout. I reckon its going to be an interesting summer at Newcastle with players and staffs departures and arrivals.

hope we get a good number 2 - heard that the youth team coach has been given the job not sure if it is for good or not but we need someone who is good tactically "Fingers Crossed" we spend big and bring in some quality players in the summer
