Bully names as stafford boss

Steve Bull has this morning been confirmed as the new manager of Blue Square Premier League Stafford Rangers.

For the striking legend, who scored a record 306 goals for Wolves in a career at Molineux that spanned 13 years, it is a first managerial post.

After a knee injury forced his retirement from the game in 1999, he continued to work for the Wolves in a PR role and he has been a familiar figure at the ground on matchdays.

e said: "I think that I needed a new start and a new challenge - I've been in football for over 20 years now and it'll be nice to give something back to the players.

"I'm grateful to Stafford for giving me the opportunity to manage the club. It's going to be difficult but if I can keep them up then that will be a bonus.

"I'm going to be full time at Marston Road but if Stafford haven't got a game and Wolves have then I'll be at Molineux doing my bit for the club. I've had meetings with Jez and it's been agreed that I'll carry on with my work at Wolves as and when time permits - something that I'm more than happy to do.

"If Wolves haven't got a game and Stafford has then it would be good to see some fans from Molineux coming and giving me a bit of support.

"Wolves are in my heart and soul. That will never change."

Chief executive Jez Moxey added: "Everyone at Wolves congratulates Steve on his appointment as manager of Stafford Rangers and wishes him great success in his new role.

"However, I am delighted to say that this is not the end of his relationship with Wolves - as far as both are concerned, Steve will always be part of Wolves and, time permitting, I'm pleased to say that we have agreed that he will continue to work with Wolves in a PR capacity."

Rangers are currently struggling in the relegation zone of the Blue Square Premier League 11 points off the safety mark although they do have games in hand to the teams immediately above them. They enjoyed a confidence winning boost on Saturday when they won at Forest Green - only their third victory of the campaign.

Steve, whose first game in charge will be on Saturday when Rangers take on Halifax Town at The Shay Stadium, follows in the footsteps of his former Molineux team-mate Phil Robinson who was the last full time manager at Stafford.

yeah hes a legend respect him so much hes done loads for wolves what a guy!!!

gonna try to go to some stafford games

A great move for him , maybe he will managed wolves in the next 5 years .
