Tell any Scouser during the mid-1980s that Liverpool and Everton fans would one day be getting all excited about the prospect of finishing fourth in the league and he probably would have laughed in your face (before quickly adjusting his shell-suit and leaving to collect his Giro before the Post Office closed). However that's the situation those men from the Mersey find themselves in and Sunday's big game at Anfield will go an awful long way towards determining who will be playing Champions League football next season.
I've no doubt most of the money for this one will be wagered on Liverpool and Spanish goal machine Fernando Torres will again attract market support to notch first (he's best price 4/1 to open the scoring). However I just have a gut feeling that Everton will pinch this despite not being able to call on the services of Tim Cahill. You have to go all the way back to 1999 for the last time Everton won on enemy territory but they are so well organised and will be up for this one big time. Liverpool are not unbeatable at Anfield and at better than 4/1 the Toffees positively reek of value.

i can see torres blowing the socks of everton but everton will have a gd go at them i think 2-1 for liverpool
