Have you been drinking already Josh? It's 7 named subs (3 of whom can be used) but two of them have to be Under 21, not 7 subs to be used in an Under 21 game!

I think that it is a good idea. As others have said it gives the manager more options all depending on the way a match is going. Plus correct me if I am wrong but time is added on for substitutions.

There's more than just the two options you give! It's not an either/or scenario. Remember, the reserves don't play at the same time as the 1st team so you could play 90 minutes in the stiffs, make a good impression and then be on the bench for the 1st team, perhaps even getting a decent run-out.

I think it is a good idea to have more options over which player to put on but why not have a 4th sub that can only be put on if a player is seriously injured basically an emergency sub but the club would have to prove the player was injured by medical exams and if he was caught not to be injured then points taken away or have the 4th sub taken away for the rest of the season.

are teams outside of the uk not already doing this and we are just falling in line with them. Got to be a good thing allows you to have more options on the bench and include younger players in the first team set up on a regular basis.

I Think its a good idea , gives managers more choice and every team would most likely to have a sub goalie as not all teams do .

Default More seats for foreigners!

Here's the Hearts bench from Saturday's game against Motherwell:

Beniusis (Lithuanian, born 1980), Zaliukas (Lithuanian, born 1983), Mikoliunas (Lithuanian, born 1984), Basso (French, born 1979), Thomson (Scottish, born 1987), Ivaskevicius (Lithuanian, born 1985), Ksanavicius (Lithuanian, born 1977)

One solitary Jock on the bench! With 7 subs what's to say the additional seats aren't polished by more cheap foreign imports? The idea would give the likes of Wenger more foreign options and not necessarily lead to English players getting a chance!

Just as an aside, here's the starting line up:

Banks (English)
Karipidis (Greek)
Wallace (Scottish)
Palazuelos (Spanish)
Nade (Costa Rican)
Neilson (Scottish)
Jonsson (Icelandic)
Berra (Scottish)
Elliot (Scottish)
Cesnauskis (Lithuanian)
Goncalves (Portuguese)

TOO MANY FOREIGNERS!

Default Here's a question for the Gooners out there!

Who was the last English player to win a Premier League medal with Arsenal?
