What is your opinion on demanding players who think there bigger than the club?

I bring this up after i was reading today about Lampard demanding he plays the rest of the Champions League games - laying it down to Avram Grant

Gerrard is very much the same with Benitez when it comes to games

There are loads of players out there that are the same these days - IMO if i was the manager i'd give these players the kick up the ass they need - setting it straight that i'm the boss and it dosn't matter how good they are

Managers need to have balls - if players don't like it then show them the door and let them sulk rotting in the reserves

There is no way the likes of Clough/Ramsey/Busby etc would of took this messing from the players of today - they would of prolly got a clip around the ear and told to button it

What these players need to understand that its a team game and not all about them. If there not in form or training well they don't deserve a place and should respect the managers decision. Instead of moaning to the media they need to get their heads down like everyone else and train hard to get their place.

haha Lampard is a fat fish. He's a decent player plays better for club then country imo but he's not one of the best.

If a player of mine went to the press demanding to play in any game, I'd retort in the press by saying "I pick the "censored" team and as a result of his comments he's not playing this week and I'm going to 'beast' him in training until his attitude improves. If he doesn't like it he can "censored" off to Barcelona or wherever - if the price is right."!

But, does Grant really pick the team? Or does Avramsmybitch tell him who he can pick from for each game?
