Stoke City have signed Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Carlo Nash on loan after Martin Fulop was recalled by Sunderland.
Hungary international Fulop had only arrived at Stoke on Friday, but an injury to Sunderland reserve keeper Darren Ward forced Roy Keane to recall the 24-year-old.
While Fulop had widely been expected to start ahead of Steve Simonsen, Nash is likely to only make the bench for the match against Preston at Deepdale.
Stoke manager Tony Pulis told the Sentinel: "We're delighted to get a keeper of (Nash's) experience at such short notice.
"I must thank Steve Bruce at Wigan for helping us out on this one. Carlo has been in our kind of situation in the past and will provide good competition in a vital area of the team.
"I've been impressed with him for a long time and he should play an important part in the dressing room."
Stoke director of football John Rudge told City's official website: "We are obviously disappointed that Marton has been recalled but there is nothing we can do about that."
