Stoke City are in the market for a new loan goalkeeper after Marton Fulop was recalled by Sunderland.


Fulop only joined the Championship leaders last Friday and was on the bench for the 1-0 win over Ipswich Town at the weekend.

He was expected to challenge Steve Simonsen for a starting spot at the Britannia Stadium, but has been summoned back to Wearside.

An injury to Darren Ward has prompted Sunderland's decision, leaving Stoke with a frantic search to bring in a replacement before Tuesday's trip to Preston North End.

Stoke was a great chance for Fulop to get Premier League football next year if they continue their present form, but once again he's going to end up wasted on the bench.

I don't think Carson would do badly as reserve while Ward is out.

Disagree, from what I have seen of Carson (not much i admit) he couldn't catch a cold

I watched him a lot in under 18s last season and he was one of the reasons they did so well. I think he's a great prospect and one we should definitely hold onto.
