Wolves have held initial talks with their counterparts at Scunthorpe regarding the rescheduling of last night's postponed fixture. But, as yet, no new date has been decided upon.
The match was called off by the referee two hours before kick-off after six industrial heaters had failed to thaw out the goalmouth at the Jack Harris Stand end of the ground.
The machinery was drafted in after a glitch with the under soil heating system allowed the pitch to freeze.
Head of Communications, Matt Grayson said: "If there are lessons to be learned, then we will learn from them. We tried everything possible to get the game on, but a rare set of circumstances conspired against us.
"However, that is no consolation to the fans, especially those who had travelled a long distance to get to the game. On behalf of the club, I'd like to apologise again to both Wolves and Scunthorpe supporters."
As well as the fans, the players were also disappointed to discover that the game had fallen foul of the weather.
Kevin Foley said: "I saw on the internet that the game was in doubt but it wasn't until I got to ground that one of the lads told me that it had just been called off.
"We all wanted a game to be played as soon as possible to give us the chance to help make up for the bad performance at Cardiff on Saturday.
"Conditions at the training ground haven't been great because the pitches there have been frozen but we prepared hard for the Scunthorpe game so it was a big disappointment when we knew it was off."
