Matt Jarvis could be fit for the weekend's trip to Colchester.

The winger will train tomorrow and be assessed later in the week.

But the question mark over the former Gillingham man's fitness has prompted manager Mick McCarthy to keep Daniel Jones at Wolves rather than send him back out on loan.

The boss says: "Matt is close to coming back and he may be involved at the weekend.

"Daniel would like to go back out on loan and play football. That would be beneficial to him but sometimes it's beneficial to the squad to have a big group of players.

"Matt Jarvis has been injured again and Micky Gray played on Saturday, but the run of games coming up is going to be Saturday then Tuesday and six games in three weeks, so that puts a whole different perspective on it.

"We've only trained with 12 players out there on Monday - I want to make sure we have enough players to cope with injuries."

Great news that Jarvis could be back but why is danny jones gonna go on loan again if jarvis is fit? We only just called him back and imo we need him.

I think MM is going to look to sell Jones. If he really wanted he'd keep him and actually give the guy a game.

I hope not i like Jones. Ok hes the worlds best but he will do a job for us, he;s not scared to take his man on and has an unbelievable shot and cross on him

I've seen him play with you kate and he looks a good player. MM would be foolish to let him go imo.

i prefer him as a left winger. I saw him away at Plymouth on his debut where he was chucked in at the deep end, and he started off as Left back. He wasn't right there and got done time after time. On the second half he moved to left midfield and he was fantastic. He's done well on the wing and imo thats his best position.
