Wolves bagged another three points this afternoon, beating struggling Colchester by a single goal.

Boss Mick McCarthy was delighted to see his side continue on the upward path that began at Crystal Palace last Saturday.

Mick said: "It's an important three points to get when the number of games left are ebbing away.

"It was a lively pitch and a tough match because they are fighting for their lives - but we always knew it would be like that.

"I've had a good response from the players since the Cardiff match (two weeks ago).

"We've changed things around and there's a few who've had their noses put out of joint but it's up to them now to get back in.

"We've had two good results since the Cup game and things are looking a lot better."

Neill Collins had to move into the centre of defence after Jody Craddock limped off with a strained ankle.

Mick added: "Neill has been Johnny on the Spot for us this season and has done well across all four positions at the back."

The boss also had praise for goal scorer Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. He said: "It can be a bit of a thankless task when you are up front on your own, but you'd back Sylvan to get in behind them and score."

Craddock is doubtful for Tuesday's game at home to Southampton.
