Mick McCarthy looks set to return to a 4-4-2 formation for tomorrow night's home game against Southampton.
The boss has employed 4-5-1 to good effect in the last two games at Crystal Palace and Colchester but could make the change as Wolves return to Molineux.
Mick says: "It's something to consider when you've just won two but having the home advantage we should play 4-4-2. The emphasis is on us to take the game to them.
"It's a system that has served me well over the years.
"Whoever gets left out as a result won't be dropped because he didn't play well at Colchester, it's because I think it's the best thing to do."
The manager will be forced to make a change in the heart of defence with Jody Craddock suffering a strained ankle on Saturday.
"Jody's ankle injury means he's looking at a comeback a week tomorrow. Having the weekend off means he will hopefully miss just one game.
"I could see he was struggling right away but, Jody being Jody, he tried to carry on.
"For someone as competitive as he is, he'll pick up these kind of injuries."
Andy Keogh is having treatment for a hamstring strain he picked up on Friday. The boss also revealed that Seyi Olofinjana had been ill prior to the weekend's trip to Layer Road.
