You're getting me wrong, I'm all for girls/womens football, my daugher plays U14 for Mulbarton Belles, one of the best [Charter Standard] clubs in the country, and the skills levels are every bit as good as their male contemporaries, but they could never compete physically with their 13/14 your old male schoolfriends (or boyfriends even!).

My lad played senior football (not just men's football but senior football as in non-league standard) at 14, until The FA found out and banned anyone under the age of 16 playing 'open age' football and he was a match for men in their 20's/30's. Now he may be, well is, a viscious thug but there's no way a fully grown woman could compete at that level of competitive football against their male counterparts.

I have 11 yr old twin girls and the eldest is the size of a 6 yr old but is good at football but she would get thrashed by girls her own age never mind boys she finds it really hard to play because people wont pass to her because she is so small. I think it only right they separate the genders because of the physical differences between boys and girls as they get older.
