A very sensible post. And a view I wholly support, having a 13 year old daughter myself who plays for Mulbarton Belles and is, how shall I put it, quite physical! But I'd never dream of putting her in opposition to a boy of her age, no matter how skillful or, in her own league, how 'hard' she may be.

That's exactly my point! My lad is a VERY good player (trials at Norwich, Ipswich, Colchester, Southend, Cambridge, Captain of Norfolk 3 years in a row etc. ) but is also a highly aggressive defensive midfielder (think of a cross between Roy Keane and Graeme Souness!) with a terrible disciplinary record. He's dished out numerous injuries, some serious, and given his fitness and strength I'd repeat what I said in an earlier post that NO woman, even an international, would last 5 minutes against such a 15 year old boy.
